KIKWETESAFI

KIGOMA Urban ACT-Wazalendo parliamentary aspirant Mr Zitto Kabwe has hailed the success attained in the 10 years under the leadership of President Jakaya Kikwete in Kigoma region.

He mentioned some of the success stories in the area as road upgrading to tarmac level and the construction of the Malagalasi Bridge which was launched by the president on Tuesday.

“When the president was launching the bridge, he personally said how we struggled to ensure that the bridge is built, where he said that he had to personally convince me to persuade donors so that they can release funds for the project,” he said.

Speaking during his campaign rally, attended by thousands of Kigoma residents, Mr Kabwe spent most of the time talking about his party’s manifesto and also urging voters to elect ACT aspirants for more development projects.

“What I can urge you today is to ensure that you vote for our aspirants so that we can take the whole of Kigoma, and we promise to achieve what we have so far promised, because if we don’t then you have the mandate to take us to task,” he said.

He told voters that they should elect him so that he can take their burning issues to parliament.. “We have issued you with flyers where I have personally signed them, and in them you will see what our top priorities are, and I can allow you to tick everything that we have promised each year, and after five years if there remains blank spaces where we have not fulfilled our promises, then you can personally come and question me,” he told the crowd.

Mr Kabwe further told the ACT supporters that he decided to vie for the Kigoma Urban constituency so that he can make sure the region is transformed into a business hub and take advantage of available resources, which include fishing and farming.

He promised Kigoma residents that he will protect their rights and ensure that they become economically independent, saying that they are lucky because they will get a legislator who is far-sighted and who will oversee development projects.

He further told his listeners that working closely with other Kigoma legislators he will make sure that they start a bank so that those who seek financial assistance can get the services. “We need to create a good business environment to go hand in hand with the popularity of the region,” he said.
