THE African Democratic Alliance (ADA-TADEA) has promised, if voted into power on October 25, to end hunger among poor Zanzibaris. ADA-TADEA presidential candidate Mr Juma Ali Khatib claimed here that he has workable plans to ensure that all families in islands have three proper meals per day.
“Vote for me and all other party flag bearers so that we can serve you better,†he told people who attended a campaign at Kiuyu-Mbuyuni village in Micheweni district, Pemba. He told the povertystricken villagers that they abandon the opposition Civic United Front (CUF) because its outgoing legislators have failed to solve problems facing them.
Poverty-stricken villages of Micheweni district experience many challenges which include soaring population, maternal and child mortality and unemployment. Mr Khatib pledged to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor.
“It’s unacceptable for the rich to share markets or shopping centres with the poor whose purchasing power is low,†he said. He promised to form an inclusive Government of National Unity embracing all political groups regardless whether each party has a representative in the House of Representatives.
“We’re determined to change the lives of people in Pemba after 20 years CUF failure. Politics is not war it is about change.
So make change and vote for ADATADEA candidates,†Mr Khatib said. He promised to build a vibrant economy, promote entrepreneurship, improve health services and agriculture.
He called for support for the party’s candidates: Mr Iddi Faraji Ramadhani, Mr Makame Faki Nyange and Mr Ussi Kombo Khatib and Mr Mbwana Said Omar seeking seats as legislators, members of the House of Representatives and councillors.
